Cultivate your career is the opportunity to showcase the horticulture industry to students studying business, technology, science or horticulture. This year is targeted at the multi-faceted innovation within the horticulture industry.

Presentations will include:

Product Innovation

Presenter: NZ Manuka, Opotiki
NZ Manuka will provide a tour of their processing plant in Opotiki where they extract Manuka oil from Manuka Leaves. This will be followed by an interactive activity and there will be a focus on various jobs within the Manuka industry from growing through to exporting.

Marketing Innovation                    

Presenter: Zespri in conjunction with Te Awanui Hukapak
Zespri will present on the innovative ways they market G3 kiwifruit internationally. Te Awanui Hukapak will facilitate an activity that illustrates the broad range of career opportunities throughout the supply chain as well as present on their Kiwi Leaders programme which aims to increase Maori capability in the primary industries.

Process Innovation

Presenter: Opotiki Packing and Coolstorage Limited (OPAC)
OPAC will present on the new innovations within their packhouse and provide an overview of post-harvest and logistics operations and the vast opportunities within these sectors of the industry.
